The Importance of Education on Cigarettes for Children

The prevalence of smoking children in Indonesia is reportedly increasing. This is then considered a dangerous condition, given that children are not properly smoking. Various attempts were made, but the results were unsatisfactory. It could be that the business carried out is not appropriate in the implementation.
During this time efforts to suppress the prevalence rate were carried out by limiting the hours of cigarette advertising, outdoor cigarette advertisements, as well as cigarette sponsors on certain occasions. Even with the existence of spooky images which he said could suppress novice smokers. In addition, the legal basis for smoking is when the consumer is 18 years and over. So, cigarette sales are indeed limited by the age of the buyer.

Unfortunately, all the efforts made have little effect. The prevalence rate of beginner smokers remains difficult to suppress.
It could be that all efforts made by the government and other parties are not effective. In a sense, what is done is actually not really important to do. Moreover, additional efforts are being encouraged such as a total advertising ban.

Fundamental things such as decisive action on the sale of cigarettes to children under the age of 18 years have never really been discussed. Indeed the rules prohibit the sale, but in reality there are still stalls that do it. This could have happened due to the lack of education for sellers as well because there was no decisive action from the government.
In addition, one of the important things that is also rarely discussed is education for children. So far they have only been frightened by spooky and prohibited stories without actually being explained, why they have not been allowed to smoke. As a result, the ban was actually challenged by children who did not like being restrained. Finally, they tried smoking, which even when caught and scolded, they showed their rebell souls to their parents.
In fact, efforts to suppress prevalence should be done with persuasive patterns of education. If the children are only repressed, they will only fight. And in vain all efforts have been made to prevent children from smoking.
If only the methods of prevention that are attempted to be more persuasive are also educative, I think children will be able to accept it more. Just explain to them, why are these children not allowed to smoke. If it is only prohibited, they will rebel and return to questioning the behavior of adults who also smoke. Will not find a way out.

Just explain to them, that children are not allowed to smoke because their level of maturity and mentality is not enough for the high responsibility of smokers. Give them the understanding that being a smoker is heavy, they are not strong yet. Because being a smoker means to bear the burden of responsibility to not interfere with the comfort of others because of the smoke produced.

Whereas cigarettes are consumption goods that have disease risk factors, also risk factors interfere with the comfort of others. Therefore, explain all of this to them. Awareness is the key to a smoker, so maturity is important. Smoking choices or not are their rights when they grow up, we cannot influence them either.
If only, if only, children were given this kind of understanding, I think they would be more aware and know that their age was not enough to smoke. Even if you have a desire to smoke, first understand the risks. Even if you don’t want to smoke, that is the right that needs to be appreciated. Do not be a little, we just want to like to impose the will on children without wanting to give an explanation that they can understand.
